Organisation

The work of the City District Department is led by Toni Mellblom, Director of the City District of Järva. The Department consists of seven divisions with responsibility for operations within each area.

The Finance Division is responsible for budget, accounting, procurement and purchasing.

The Administrative Division supports the City District Department in various administrative matters.

The department is responsible for strategic and long-term planning in areas such as crime prevention, safety, security, crisis preparedness, civil defence, civil society issues, environmental and climate work and Agenda 2030. It is also responsible for the administration's communication.

The HR Division is responsible for the division’s HR matters.

The Preschool Division is responsible for the municipal preschool for children aged 1–6 years.

Preschool is an important step in the child’s education and provides a good foundation for continued learning. Here, the children get the opportunity to develop through play, creation and exploration. They learn both on their own and with others, including adults.

The division is also responsible for the municipal open preschool, which is a meeting place for adults with children between the ages of 0 and 6, when the children are not in preschool. Here, children can play and meet other children, while guardians have the opportunity to meet other adults, get advice and support, and participate in various activities.

The City Development, Citizens’ Services and Leisure Division is responsible for various issues related to the well-being of Järva residents. There is support for both adults and young people in several important areas.

Citizens’ Services offers three citizen offices where residents can get help with community guidance, budget and debt counselling, consumer advice and housing guidance. The Unit for Work and Study includes Framtidens hus (Furure Hub), a meeting place for young people between the ages of 16 and 19 that offers activities and community to support their development and prepare them for an independent adult life. Kompetensverkstan (Competence Hub) helps young people between the ages of 16 and 29 to get a job or start studying.

In urban development, we work to develop and manage parks and green areas in the district. We contribute with local perspectives in urban planning processes – in Järva, residents and visitors will be offered a pleasant, safe and accessible urban environment that takes the climate and the environment into account.

Within the leisure area, there are recreation centres and youth centres, as well as park games that offer safe meeting places where young people can explore their interests and build communities. We want to give children and young people a meaningful leisure time that gives them the opportunity to grow and even out living conditions. We also offer short-term supervision for young people over the age of 12.

The Individual and Family Care Division helps children, young people and parents when there is concern that a child is unwell. They investigate and offer support and protection.

They also work to help adults leave life with substance abuse, crime or violence in close relationships. In addition, they provide financial support and help with finding a job and a steady residence.

The division also runs Bromstensgården, a home for investigation and emergency help for families and children under 20.

The Elderly Care, Disability and Social Psychiatry Division offers support and help to people over the age of 65, people with disabilities and people in social psychiatry.

They are responsible for the municipality’s health and social care, including home care services, nursing homes and homes with special services.

The division also runs daily activities and preventive work such as meeting points and meeting places. There are also family consultants and personal representatives to provide support.
