City District Department of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör

The City District Department of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör is responsible for a large proportion of municipal services within the city district area of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör.

The City District Department is responsible for

  • municipal preschool
  • elderly care services
  • support and services for people with disabilities
  • work on the urban environment (e.g. maintenance of parks)
  • social psychiatry
  • individual and family care
  • guidance for consumers
  • leisure and cultural activities.

The elected representatives on the City District Council decide what is to be prioritised for these municipal operations in the area. The City District Department must then implement the Council’s decisions.

The city district area of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör comprises the following city districts

Organisation

The work of the City District Department is led by Anders Carstorp, Director of the City District of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör. The Department consists of six divisions with responsibility for operations within each area.

The Finance and Premises Division is a support and service function for the administration's core activities.

The division works to create an efficient and quality-assured work process in the administration by coordinating, planning and following up various processes that affect the entire administration. Under the head of department, the budget coordinator works.

The division staff is responsible for, among other things:

  • support and investigative resources for the administrative management
  • coordination of the Finance Unit
  • contact with the City Management Office on financial issues
  • writing service statements.

The Division of Human Resources, the Administrative Unit and Urban Environment is a support and service function for the administration’s core activities.

The division is responsible for development and analysis that affects the entire administration and coordinates the work with site collaboration and the focus area Hagsätra-Rågsved.

The division is responsible for, among other things:

  • support in personnel issues such as recruitment, work environment, wellness, rehabilitation, equal treatment, labour law, salary review and transition
  • internal and external communication for the district administration
  • work on crime prevention, safety, security, crisis preparedness, security protection and fire protection
  • administration of committees
  • environmental and business issues
  • the operation, management and maintenance of parks and green areas, including nature reserves.

The Preschool Division in Enskede-Årsta-Vantör organises preschools and a consultancy and support group. The consultancy and support group includes a language educator, a special needs educator and a case officer for children in need of special support. The group provides support to the preschool units in their work.

The Division is responsible for the municipal preschools in Enskede-Årsta-Vantör. There are 56 preschools, organised under 11 units. Each unit is led by a Principal.

The department consists of the five units: open preschool and park play, recreation centres, prevention/early support, community services, advice and support, and the health-promoting unit.

The Division for Individuals and Families works to support and help children, young people and adults in difficult life situations.

The department is responsible for investigating and following up initiatives for children and young people, as well as conducting social change work. This includes, among other things, working for one's own livelihood and handling applications for financial assistance. The department also offers labour market measures and support to people who have problems with substance abuse and addiction.

The department is also responsible for the administration of camps and culture.

The department is responsible for several important areas of social support and care.

The department includes the exercise of public authority, social psychiatry and daily activities according to LSS, as well as providers of elderly care. It is also responsible for the health and medical care and development unit.
