AB Stokab

AB Stokab was founded in 1994 with the aim of expanding, maintaining and providing an open and passive fibre infrastructure.

Stokab’s network is the biggest open fibre network in the world, equivalent to travelling more than 45 times around the Earth. The network links together, for example, residential areas in Stockholm’s inner city and suburbs, office and business centres, as well as public sector operations such as schools, hospitals and government agencies.
The network also includes the larger inhabited islands in the Stockholm archipelago, and reaches all neighbouring municipalities in the Stockholm region.

AB Stokab has a wholly owned subsidiary, S:t Erik Kommunikation AB. S:t Erik Kommunikation AB is responsible for procuring, administering and developing the City’s internal communications network

The elected representatives on AB Stokab’s Executive Board decide how the City should work in this area. AB Stokab must then execute the Executive Board’s decisions.

Organisation

AB Stokab is led by CEO Joakim Larsson. The company has more than 90 employees and consists of six divisions with responsibility for operations within each area.
