Transport Committee

The Transport Committee is responsible for strategic traffic planning in the City of Stockholm, the development of traffic safety, traffic control and for all trees in the street space. The Transport Committee is also responsible for certain leases.

The Transport Committee is responsible for the Transport Department.

Transport Department

The committee meets ten times a year. The committee consists of 13 members and 13 substitute members.

The Transport Committee is appointed by the City Council.

Council linked to the Transport Committee

The Transport Committee and Stockholms Stads Parkerings AB have a council for disability issues. The council for disability issues is an advisory body to the Transport Committee on issues involving aspects of disability.

The council

  • initiates improvements for people of all ages with disabilities
  • must be given the opportunity, before decisions are made, to participate in advisory committees, to express an opinion and to make representations on matters concerning people with disabilities
  • must be given an opportunity to express an opinion on proposals for policies and policy documents concerning people with disabilities.
